From an avid bronze collector who found this bronze mythological creature in a village near Beijing in the mid-1900s. I acquired it from the collector in 2003.

 

Such pieces are typical of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911).  In this case, both of us are convinced it is from the late 1800s OR EARLIER.

 

Kylin’s are creatures representing good fortune.

 

A museum piece by all standards.   For the VERY Serious Collector and Knowledgable Art Investor.
