Very Old Khmer Empire Bronze Buddha Head / Statue, Cambodia / Thailand

Click the photo above for a larger version and more pictures

Detail:  A serene Buddha head that was damaged – most likely – during a Burmese raid into Thailand.  I purchased this from an Asian collector / gallery in New Zealand.  The Khmer Empire (esotericstuff.comly Cambodia today) flourished during the 9th through 13th Centuries.  Then it fell into the Dark Ages.  The prior owner claims that this part of a damaged statue was from the late 14th Century.  A stunning piece of Cambodian history,  displayed on a simple stand.  For the Serious Collector.
