Detail: This is a Raja (village headman) box used to store valuable heirlooms and jewelry. The male Singha heads on each end are mythical protective creatures. Note the human figures beneath the Singha heads. A Cicak (a small nocturnal lizard commonly found in houses) carved on top represents deities who protect the physical house. This chest was used in two scenes in a Disney movie, “Sorcerer’s Apprentice”, 2010. More information about this upon request. Circa late 19th Century to early 20th. From a collector of primitives in Dallas, Texas. Very good condition. Some aging cracks. For the Serious Collector.

This stunning Chest has SOLD.  Thanks.  C.R.
