A scarce book for those who hunt rare books.  The Man-Eaters and Other Odd People, A Popular Description of Singular Races of Man”  takes on all races from all continents . . . from Patagonia to the Texan frontier.

He has an interesting perspective being a “historian”, “storyteller” and novel author (think, “The Headless Horseman”). The first printing was back in 1861, so take that into account.

All-in-all, it is MORE THAN an interesting read.

The 1878 hardbound book is in good condition with embossed blue cover and back (with gold on spine).  461 pages with still tight binding, illustrations and slightly yellowed pages.
