Detail: Guro masks usually consist of narrow faces, large foreheads. The Guro mask represents the spirit of Gu, the wife of Zamble, a deity. Gu is usually depicted as elegant, graceful, serene and beautiful. These masks are generally used in sacrificial gatherings, funerals and celebrations. Circa mid-1900’s. Pristine condition.
