Near the end of the 16th Century when Islam was introduced to Mindanao, sultans ruled this island of the Philippines and so did the Muslims.  In the province of Lanao del Sur and in a local government unit (Barangay) called Raya Tugaya, this sword was found by one of my Southeast Asian agents who is very familiar with the area.  This sword was owned by Sultan Osop Tigarran of Lanao del Sur.  Not sure what this sturdy, gold and well decorated sword was used for but notice the wear on the ivory-colored handle.  We are both sure that the sword is over 100 years old, most likely from the late-1800’s.    In very good condition.  Will include the ceramic double dragon sword stand  (13” wide x 8” tall x 3” deep).

For the Serious Collector.
