Looks great at the end of a long line of books . . .  or nestled up to a stack.

Typical of the mythological hybrid from ancient Egypt (and Persia), the beast with wings and head/beak of an eagle dates back to 3000 B.C.

Griffins are known as guardians of buried wealth, especially secret wealth.  They were strong, valiant and ferocious especially on behalf of the noble class.

With that said, it is no wonder that the griffin was the embodiment of earthly power and majesty… a superhero guarding the vault of the rich.

In near perfect condition with minor aging and wear.  On a wood base.
