These are just gorgeous.
Handcrafted in a small village of Newar metal sculptors of the Kathmandu Valley. These sculptors follow Himalayan art traditions and – for centuries – have been the acknowledged masters of their fine metalwork trade. Even today they create many of the images used in worship by Buddhist communities throughout the world.
These are eleven (11) small round containers each with a variety of Buddhist symbols and designs. Semi-precious stones are added but because of age some stones are missing.
I have seen recent imitations of these – of poor quality – sell for $50 USD EACH!
Highly skilled pieces – like these – have that kind of value . . . or more. These are eight designs and all have been used through the years . . . . giving them a lot of ambiance.
For the Serious Collector of fine workmanship . . . . with many relatives to gift them to. Stands not included.
Great for gift-giving!
