Handcrafted in the SW Xinjiang Region. The emergence of spinach green nephrite jade can be attributed to the Qing Qianlong period. The emperor’s interest in this jade color made it very popular . . . over other jades in Asia and Canada. The flattened silver ornamentation that surrounds the bowl was all handcrafted by artisans.
High silver content. Seal on bottom. Likely very old although I cannot verify.
Acquired in 2000 from a private home in Lanzhou (Gansu Province).
For the Serious Collector. Stand not included.
