You might like this statue for the same reason as I do.  There are many aging cracks, a chip missing from the hairdress and base . . . plus he is missing his staff/weapon.  However, the detail is phenomenal.  Just look.

A famous Chinese warrior who gained a lot of fame with his involvement in the civil war that collapsed the Han Dynasty – about 200 AD.  It is an older hand carved statue and even with its chips and cracks, those defects do not distract from the wonderful detail in this sculpture.  I secured this from a private residence in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, eastern China in the mid-1900s.

Statue is early- to mid- 1900s.

This item has been sold.  Many thanks L.T.!
