Reclining Maya Devi Buddha Statue on Wooden Stand.  Tibet

Click the photo above for a larger version and more pictures

I believe that this is a statue of Maya Devi, the mother of the historical Shakiyamuni Buddha.

This statue appears to be carved or molded from a composite stone material.  The texture is quite smooth and the colors are deep.

There is openwork on the crown.  Stunning.

The wood base has had some repair and could use some wood finishing.  However, the base is stable.  The statue may be removed from the base.

Quite beautiful.
