Detail: This is a newer complete set – 26 pieces – of hand carved chess pieces. The king is a tall 5.75”, the queen is 4.75” and a pawn is 2.375”. The dark pieces are carved from bud rosewood, considered one of the most beautiful woods for chess (with its soft wood grain and dark burgundy color). The lighter pieces are boxwood. Each piece is weighted for stability and sits on a felt base. I usually do not offer anything brand new but I could not pass up offering such a quality and detailed carved set.
