This came from an estate sale in the US of an avid collector of very old masks. It was one of the few masks that were not identified other than a tag saying it was from the mid- to late- 1800s. I think it is from the Murerongo tribe of Zaire / DRC / Congo because of it full face, heavy features, open mouth and squared-off teeth.
