Excavated in the 1950s in the Anuradhapura area . . . on the site of Sri Lanka’s first capital city.
This red sandstone figure is quite eroded due to the nature of the soft stone. It is a bust of a woman or goddess. You can see the earrings and elaborate headdress. Some reconstruction has been done on the piece.
The piece can stand upright with a slight lean to one side.
