I love and have loved this piece for over 16 years! I look at it everyday.
Markings and designs from the Ming Dynasty. However, judging from the quality of the porcelain and the fire of the kiln, the late 1800s would be a more accurate date. Many times later artisans imitated designs, stylings and quality of previous kilns. This is done primarily out of respect for the earlier craftsmanship. This is the case with this vessel.
Acquired from an antique / antiquities dealer in Southern California in 2001. A once-in-a-lifetime find for me.
