During the 19th Dynasty, Nefertari was in power with Ramesses the Great.
Painted with Gouache and gold accents by professional artists.
Papyrus plants found on the banks of the famous River Nile Valley have their outer bark of stem removed and the inner pith sliced into thin strips. It is then hammered to break the fibers and drain the water. These strips are placed in two layers – horizontal and vertical – and pressed together for 3 days until they become dry.
Then the Papyrus can be painted, as this one was.
Beautiful and ready to frame. Perfect condition. Shipped unframed.
