Topeng is a dramatic form of Indonesian dance where most of the performers wear masks and ornate costumes.
This particular mask was worn in dances that included fire (where fire is mainly used in Kecak dance). Java, and some other nearby islands, perform Topeng in the retelling of ancient stories.
