Pre Columbian Simple Pottery Olla / Bowl.  Diquis Culture.  Costa Rica

This simple, somewhat primitive bowl is from the indigenous Diquis culture of Costa Rica (along the Pacific) that flourished from 700 AD to 1530 AD.  The bowl is permeated with gold 24k micro nuggets or flakes.  This culture was well known for its metallurgy, huge stone balls and stone statuary.

 

Came from a collector in Florida USA who has had it in his family for 60 years.

 

In good condition.  A small chip on the mouth edge.   Stand not included.
