This news service photo was used to announce an A&E Special on Egyptian mummies
From my research, I believe this photo is of a mummy found at the Necropolis Duch about 125 miles west of the Nile Valley. Excavations since 1995 have defined the occupation of the necropolis from the 5th Century B.C. to the beginning of the Roman Empire. There were both collective and individual graves along with tradition funerary goods…. Decorated beds, wooden statues (most with a stucco layer and paint), masks, glassware, and ceramics.
The B&W photo is in excellent condition for 20+ years of age. Unframed.
A rare find. Stand not included.
