Detail: From a collection of stone Buddhist heads by a well-known Seattle WA architect. The prior owner said it was carved in the late Ming Dynasty. I am not confident in that age but I do believe it is from the early- to mid-1900s. A beautiful sculpture with a serene smile. Could easily be mounted and displayed in a garden or in a special place in the home. In very good condition.
In March 2011, I had a custom stand crafted in metal. It is round with a series of tapering levels, providing an additional 2+” of height to the head. The stand has a vintage look that complements the general ambiance of the head. If you would like photos of the head on the stand, please contact me.
