One of the 18th Arhats – followers of the Buddha – who has attained nirvana and has advanced along the the path of enlightenment.
Introducing Culapanthaka – the Doorman. He was one of Buddha’s favorite disciples. He would go out alms-begging, banging on doors with his husky and powerful hands. Unfortunately – according to legend – he brought down a old and rotten door…. very much to the surprise of the owner. Buddha gave him a tin staff and instructed him to tap this staff on the door…. not to beat it down with his fists. Probably was able to get a bunch more alms using this effort.
In porcelain and with much detail.
