Old and Rare Blackwater Lakes Spirit Figure / Statue. Papua New Guinea

An excellent specimen from the mid- Sepik River. The cockatoo crest is nearly complete. Ochre pigment still exist on the face. A few pieces from the crest are missing and a couple have been repaired. There are other age cracks plus the left hand has been repaired at the wrist. Even with those cracks and repairs, YOU WILL NOT FIND ANOTHER PIECE like this, ever. A rare primitive piece.
