Moro Punal Dagger / Knife. Southern Philippines

Click the photo above for a larger version and more pictures

A double-edged Moro Punal knife.  The wood handle (perhaps burl wood) has an excellent patina.  The hand guard and sheath’s multi- metal bands (sawasa) certainly have age.  Some decoration (engraved silver/copper) on these bands indicates that this dagger was made for someone of importance.  Belt loop.  In good shape.  Circa 1920s, 1930s.  No stands are included.
