Mahogany or Ireng Hanuman Fighting a Dragon, Indonesia

Click the photo above for a larger version and more pictures

Detail: Hanuman is a very popular Hindu deity. Believed to be an avatar of Lord Shiva, Hanuman is worshiped as a symbol of physical strength, perseverance and devotion. Depicted here in a fighting battle against a dragon. Note the detail throughout but especially the head dress. This museum quality sculpture was acquired from a private collector in California who has had it in his family for over 50 years. It has been in my private collection for 11 years. Note the reddish-brown color in the wood grain and the solid brown and almost ebony black. Perfect condition. No scratches or cracks. For the Serious Collector.
