Detail: Hard brass temple bell that serves as a singing bell / bowl. At the tip of the handle is a Dorje (Tibetan name) or Vajra, a sacred object. A striker is included and – if you hold the bell by the handle – you can make it “sing” by rotating the wooden striker around the outside rim of the bell. The bell also has a clapper so you can ring it to assemble folks for a prayer session or to call them for dinner. Stand not included. Circa mid- to late-1900’s.
