Large Brass Champlevé Candy Box with Lid.  China

A large and round Champlevé candy box.  This Chinese enameling technique features carved or chiseled depressions in a brass vessel . . . and then filled with enamel, fired and polished.


Attractive scenery along the outside rim (repeated) and designs in other places.  With lid and stamp on bottom.  Ceramic knob as handle.


From the mid- 1900s.  From a collector estate sale in Ohio USA.
