A gorgeous Myrtle wood bowl! I commissioned a group of Tasmanian wood carvers back in the 1990s to create a series of bowls and containers from both Huon Pine and Myrtle. These bowls are what the carvers are known for . . . stunning pieces of art. This one is a rainforest reddish wood, Myrtle… a predominant species in Tasmania’s cool temperature rainforests. Its regeneration cycle is from 1 to 500 years. It’s timber is prized for furniture, wood turning, specialty flooring, decorative work, and pieces of art (like this is). It still has a wonderful smell.

Government sanctioned removal from river and stream beds.  With fact sheet. Hand signed by its maker, Michael Jones. Would make a great gift.
