Handmade Upright – Table top – Incense Burner. Nepal / Tibet

Click the photo above for a larger version and more pictures

This burner was handmade – custom made for EsotericStuff –  in Nepal by skilled Tibetans.  It is comprised of brass, copper, turquoise and coral.  It also employs a cloisonné enameling technique were strips of semi-precious stones and wire are welded to a metal plate in the shape of the intended design.  The spaces are filled with enamel paste, fired, ground smooth and – finally – polished.

There is a seated Buddha on an altar in the base of the burner with 3 holes for stick incense.  This is a one-of-a-kind piece.

A recent piece that would make a superb gift.
