This head of the Egyptian Queen was carved by skilled artisans in a village near Aswan (Upper Egypt, south of Luxor) and near the world-famous granite quarries of Shellal. The village is known for its ancient Egyptian sculptures, paintings and crafts.
A partially carved head from limestone with deep rich coloring. Acquired it from an American collector whose father travelled extensively through Egypt in the 1920s and 1930s.
Very good condition and quite artistic. Stand not included.
