Casting of Australopithecus boisei – Zinjanthropus – OH 5 Zinj Primate Skull, Tanzania Africa

Click the photo above for a larger version and more pictures

Detail:  The discovery of the OH 5 Zinj skull was perhaps the most important transition in the history of paleoanthropology AND a most important find for Mary Leakey back in 1959.  She found the skull in Olduvai Gorge, Tanzania.  This casting was made from the original 1.5 million year old skull that is now housed in the Tanzania National Museum under OM 5.

I am not sure how many of these castings were made but I do know that the collector I acquired it from has had it for 30 years prior to the time I bought it in 1998.

An excellent casting and in good shape.  Display stands are not included.  For the Serious Collector.
