Carved Cobra Coin Trinket Box or Container, Southeast Asia

A rare item.  Could be carved from clay or soft stone.  Purchased from a Seattle private collector who claims it was carved in Thailand in the late 1940s.   That makes some sense since many Thailand villagers call cobras, “angel snakes” and believe them to manifestations of the supernational, possessing magical qualities . . . among other things.


Signature on bottom.  Great gift idea!   3.25” wide x 3.5” tall with lid on
