Bronze Hindu Goddess Durga on Dawon, India

Click the photo above for a larger version and more pictures

Detail:  As a goddess, Durga’s feminine power contains the energies of the gods.  She holds – in her many arms – weapons from various gods.  Durga was created as a warrior goddess to fight demons (namely Mahisha).  She rides on her Dawon (lion or tiger).  This is a highly detailed piece. I purchased this statue from an art dealer in Southern California over 10 years ago.  It has been in my private collection.
