Bronze Foo Dog and Ram Ashtray / Bowl, Asia

Click the photo above for a larger version and more pictures

Detail:  I have had this forever to hold miscellaneous office things.  It is old and unique.  Two faces appear:  one is a ram and the other – with mouth open for the smoke to flow – is a foo dog face.   Circa late-1800s to early-1900s.  Origin is unknown but most likely Asian.  No tobacco or cigarette stains and very little weathering or age marks.  Gold residue is present on the inside bottom.  The inside could have been painted or coated with gold paint/leaf.   Very good condition.   Stand not included.   Superb quality.
