Bronze Buddha Sakyamuni, North Thailand

Detail: A bust of Buddha mounted on a rustic and custom-made teak base. Ayutthaya style. Serene expression, arched eyebrows and hairdress. The bust is likely to be quite old with the base made later. Most likely the early to mid- 1900s. Probably a temple figure, desecrated at some point. A rare find. Has been in my private collection for over 20 years. Secured from an antique dealer in Thailand. For the Serious Collector.
