Detail: This is a ceremonial bronze vessel shaped as an owl tsun, similar to others used in the Shang Dynasty, 11th Century B.C. It is cast in the shape of a bird whose “owl head” forms a removable lid, held in place by a stepped-in flange. Nicely detailed. Circa mid-1900’s or earlier. Very good condition.
