Brass Naga Protected Buddha Statue, Thailand

Detail: This is the second type of Lopburi-styled Buddha, a style which thrived in the 13th Century. Here Buddha is mediating while Naga (Muchalinda) forms a shelter from a demon (Mara). From an American who lives in Thailand and enjoys a solid reputation there. Good condition. Circa late-1800’s or early-1900’s.
