Brass Hindu Shiva Nataraja, India

Detail:  In the style of India’s famous Chola Dynasty.  This is a gorgeous brass of Shiva.  Performing inside a flame-tipped aureole (representing the cosmos) …. giving life and movement to the whole of the universe.  On top is Chhepu, a common protectorate figure that is often found on top of entrances to shrines.  In this dancing form it is called Narteswara or Nataraja Shiva.  Perfect condition.  Circa early- to mid-1900s.  For the Serious Collector.  SORRY, THIS ITEM HAS BEEN SOLD.
