Detail: This is a great piece, obviously made for the Year of the Snake (or Sign of the Snake). That could have been for 1905, 1917, 1929, 1941, 1953, etc. With a origination date near mid-1900’s, it might have been for 1953’s celebration of the Year of the Snake. Most other astrological figures are there also… rat, ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, horse, sheep, monkey, rooster, dog and pig. Wow… all are on a pile of Chinese coins. Some oxidation is present that can be removed with a cotton cloth and some coconut oil. Coconut oil will not affect the metal.
