Sculptor Santini (1910-1975) is probably best known for his use of carrara marble to create unique and classical sculptures such as Danaide, Birth of Venus, Dance of Bolero and Venus Italica.  He also formulated a unique medium of carrara powder, alabaster powder and resin for casting his classics.  The Santini Workshop is well known and has flooded the market with his creations. . .  and the creations of others.

However, before he died, he created some unique pieces that are rarely seen.  I have had a few of his Asian works and they all have a pleasant golden tone and tons of detail.  Over the last 20 years I have only seen one figure that has an Asian theme.

This is one such piece.  Lots of character and in great condition.

This item has been sold.  Thanks V.W.  !
