Aryballos UR Flask, Iraq

Click the photo above for a larger version and more pictures

From UR – a Sumerian city in ancient Mesopotamia – located in Iraq.  Greco-Roman influence. Notice the red stripes around the upper part of the flask.

Acquired and uncovered from 1963 through 1969 by a couple who extensively traveled the Mideast and Northern Africa.

Personally examined by a state museum director.  He has assured me that it is indeed original and not a reproduction or facsimile.

This flask is in very good condition.
