Archaic Jade and Bronze Censer.  Container.  Vessel.  China

Click the photo above for a larger version and more pictures

A fusion of various materials that yields this stately and gorgeous vessel or container.  Called the Scholar Censer – or incense burner – most likely because of the scholar statue on the top of the lid.  Notice the geckos and birds around the mid-section.

The blend of the green jade and gold paint about the mid section is truly distinctive.

Acquired from a collector in Germany.  It has been in my private collection since the mid-2000s.

For the Serious Collector.  Stands not included.

This stunning piece has sold.  Thanks. M.S.
