This outstanding container, with its intricate design of lotus and interlocking flowers, features carved or chiseled depressions in a bronze vessel . . . . then filled with enamel, fired and polished.
Cloisonné was used for the finer details. Here metal wire or ribbon act as a partition for the enamel to be placed.
Both techniques are used throughout in the background depressions.
Exquisite quality.
Purchased from a mid-eastern family who said it was from the early 20th Century.
For the Serious Collector.
