Temple lamp from an Ambassador’s Private Collection. With various barrel shapes forming the body, there is no mistaking the dragon’s head forming a fluted spout. The efficiency of this lamp is based on how the oil passes through various small holes . . . and finally into the cup to burn.
This piece was part of a Chinese Ambassador’s Asian collection. It is authentic and – based on the weight, design and general condition – probably from the early- to mid-1800’s. There are areas of degradation/ corrosion but it is still in good condition. Glass stand not included.
