Large solid brass bowl weighing four pounds. Purchased from a collector in Reno Nevada in the late 1990s who said it had been in his family for almost 100 years. The stamp on the bottom and the patina certainly is validation of an antique. However, tucked up under the rim on the base is a CHINA stamp.
Hand stamped lettering were done in the 1950s when items were exported to Europe and the West.
I think it was made in the early 1900s but exported in the mid-1900s, hence the hand engraving. It is quite hard to find and would not be noticeable when in its proper position.
Stand not included.
