Antique 19th Century Ritual Shamanic Bone Phurba / Phurpa / Dagger, Tibet

Click the photo above for a larger version and more pictures

This was acquired from an estate sale of archaeological items back in the 1960’s.  It has been held in the personal collection of an East Coast USA anthropologist until I acquired it recently.   It dates back to the mid- to late-1800’s and is carved from yak bone.  Phurpa / Phurba is a tantric ritual dagger used in most Buddhist ceremonies to conquer evil spirits and destroy obstacles.

These bone Phurpas are quite rare in this condition and at this age.  For the Serious Collector.  Display stands are not included.

Sorry, but this item has been sold.   Search for more PHURPAs on the site or CONTACT US for more Tibetan ritual items.
