Excavated from the soft sands of the Mahakam River on the east side of  Borneo island and the Makassar Strait of the Pacific Ocean, this ceramic container is estimated to be 700-800 years old.

This jar was likely used for rice and vegetable storage by the Dayak people of this river.  Notice sea crustaceans on the outside of vessel.

For the Serious Collector. Stand not included.
