Rare Ornate Brass Elephant Bell. India

I thought that this might be used for another purpose but I was assured by a master bell collector that it was indeed an elephant bell . . . but not the typical claw type. I was told that these are found in temples where elephants are very sacred and have a strong connection to divinity. That all makes sense when you consider Lord Genesha.
When I acquired this in the early 1990s, I just fell in love with the designs, the shape and the attached cord and tassle.
Based on some research and from talking to the collector, it appears to be from the early 1900s . . . and very rare.
